Mr. President.
I voted for you. I like you. I support most of what you have done in your first days in office.
But you should not have included the green card holders in the immigration Executive Order. It looks too much like a broken promise. That’s not your style, sir. It is not America’s style. I urge you to reconsider.
Your friend, (really)
Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse
Where in the order was green cards or lawful permanent residents mentioned?

Evidently, the order itself does not specify anything about green card holders but was intrepretted to include them. Evidently the administration is walking this back, but the situation is admittedly pretty confusing. This article is by Ben Shapiro, who was a well-known Never-Trumper. He defends the bulk of this Executive Order.
Likewise, David French, a well-known Never-Trumper, defends the vast bulk of Trump’s EO. I think this is really decent of French and Shapiro.
